At USP, we believe that the community an undergraduate joins in University can have a direct and significant impact on his or her entire educational experience, future and life. Hence, we place great emphasis on nurturing a community that is open, collaborative, stimulating, and unique to USP.

USP students regularly interact with peers, alumni, faculty, staff and visitors on a wide range of projects and discussions. In their ground-up initiatives (GUIs), students are consistently engaged in advocating for communities they believe in, ranging from underprivileged children to seniors in nursing homes.

Currently, USP houses more than 30 interest groups (IGs) centred around the arts, sports, social issues and many more!! Through frequent interactions, these IGs work together to strengthen camaraderie and hone life skills beyond the university. Here are some IG features just for you!

We are a beginner-friendly sports interest group that caters to netball players at all levels. Our weekly training sessions focuses on practising footwork, passing and ball-handling skills through drills and practice games. The Cinnamon Conversations (TCC)

Here at The Cinnamon Conversation (TCC), we bring together students and experts in a informal small-group setting to discuss a topic of the expert’s interest/expertise. Our goal is to have a conversation for everyone, with a variety of different convos covering different niche topics. Our past guests include USP Alumni, professors and academics both in and out of USP/NUS, politicians and industry experts! Recent guests include MP Louis Ng (AMA on Zoom), the competitive eating Youtuber Zermatt Neo, representaties from Mothership.sg, and Dr Paolo Di Leo (a philosophy prof from SUTD). Currently, our sessions are held on Zoom. But pre-COVID, other formats even included dinner sessions and chill beanbag talks :D

USP Floorball

Besides playing recreationally on our own, we play in friendlies with other RCs, as well as IFG (male and female) and ICG (mixed gender). If you’re looking for a fun avenue to engage in competitive sports, or simply want to try something new, USP Floorball is the place for you!
